We are pleased to announce our newest RIC community – St. Philip Lutheran Church in Trenton, Michigan.
St. Philip Lutheran Church Pastor, Michael Meyer, said affirming the welcoming statement was a “no brainer” for the congregation: “As Disciples of Jesus, one either affirms one’s commitment to follow in the Ministry of Jesus or decides not to live this way. Being Baptized calls us to follow Jesus’ welcome for all people.”
St. Philip’s ministry of welcome in the Trenton and the Downriver community has been active since they began worshiping together in September, 1959. They officially became a church in March, 1960. Their website reads: “As pastors have joined us and then moved on to other efforts, our mission to serve the world has remained constant. We welcome people of all ages and backgrounds, from lifelong Lutherans to those who have never heard of God. Our worship services help us praise God and hear what God has to say in our life of service. Just walk in the door to a great welcome and you’ll feel right at home.”
Please join us in welcoming, St. Philip Lutheran Church to the RIC community!
