Help ReconcilingWorks welcome the newest Reconciling in Christ (RIC) community: Episcopal Lutheran Ministry at University of Louisville (Louisville, KY).
Their welcome statement reads:
“God’s love, poured out in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, is for absolutely everyone. Episcopal Lutheran Ministry on the Campus of the University of Louisville seeks to make this love known to all students, faculty, administration, and staff by offering radically inclusive hospitality. This is not an option but a requirement for all who would call themselves Christian and is done in answer to Christ’s example and command.
We do not simply welcome, but rather celebrate and commit to learning from all of our siblings in Christ:
• Whatever their race, ethnicity, national origin, and immigration status;
• Whatever their sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression;
• Whatever their physical, mental, and intellectual gifts and challenges;
• Whatever their faith story, questions, doubts, fears, and hopes.
In addition, Episcopal Lutheran Ministry recognizes the need of the church to repent and we ask forgiveness for all the ways the church has sinned against our siblings in the past and encourage their challenge and critique as we strive to live ever more fully into this welcome.”
