Help ReconcilingWorks welcome the newest Reconciling in Christ (RIC) community: Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church (Stevenson, WA).
Their welcome statement reads:
“We welcome all because God welcomes all regardless of race, culture, age, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation or relationship status. In this welcome, we include all people without regard to addictions, physical or mental health, imprisonment, socio-economic circumstance, or anything that too often divides us. Our unity is in Christ.
At Shepherd of the Hills we believe that all existence is a gift of God’s love and grace, and we believe that we are to see with the eyes and heart of God.
Here we believe God creates with love. Everything and everyone belongs.
“God looked at all of this creation, and proclaimed that this was good – very good.”
(Genesis 1:31)“You created my inmost being and stitched me together in my mother’s womb. For all these mysteries I thank you – for the wonder of myself, for the wonder of your works – my soul knows it well.” (Psalm 139:13-14)
“Teacher, which commandment of the law is the greatest?” Jesus answered, “You must love the Most High God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind. That is the greatest and first commandment. The second is like it, ‘You must love your neighbor as yourself.’” (Matthew 22:36-39)
“Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)
Jesus said, “Do to others what you would have them do to you.” (Luke 6:31)In this house of worship, you are welcome, you are home.”
