It is with great joy and delight that I ask you to help me in welcoming ReconcilingWorks new Board Chaplain, Rev. Lenny Duncan!
ReconcilingWorks gives thanks for the leadership and gifts Rev. Duncan brings to congregation Jehu’s Table in Brooklyn, NY, and the larger Church. To learn more about the ministry of Jehu’s Table check out their website and watch https://jehustable.org/ and watch their introductory video on their home page.
Pastor Lenny Duncan (he/him) is a follower of Jesus Christ and is in a passionate love affair with Grace. He was issued a call to serve the people of Jehu’s Table from the Metro New York Synod of the Evangelical Church in America as a mission developer (church planter.) He is also a frequent voice on the intersection of the Church and the cries of the oppressed. He pays special attention to Black Liberation movements in his work, but lifts up the frequent intersection with other marginalized peoples. He believes that the reason the ELCA has remained so white is a theological problem, not a sociological one. He holds a Bachelors of Arts from Lancaster Bible College, in New Testament Theology, and Ministry. He also holds a Master of Divinity from United Lutheran Seminary.
I’m grateful to announce that I have been named as Board Chaplain to ReconcilingWorks and will help be a spiritual guide and more importantly intentional partner as they continue to grow into a more intentional intersectional model, a journey they have been on long before me. I’m honored they invited me along. – Rev. Lenny Duncan
Amen for Rev. Duncan and all of you who are committed to deepening and expanding the welcome, inclusion, and celebration of LGBTQIA+ people in the Lutheran Church!
