ReconcilingWorks is proud to announce our newest Reconciling in Christ congregation, Zion Lutheran Church in Worcester, Massachusetts.
Zion is a community of grace that has been a welcoming presence in northern Worcester, MA for nearly 100 years come this October.
“Home to life-long Lutherans, and those who share and strengthen our understanding with other faith-formation stories, our community is truly a melting pot of God’s children; brought together in love to live by grace. The unanimous vote of the Congregation Council in becoming a Reconciling in Christ congregation follows many years of living the inclusive nature of true welcome,” the Rev. Andrew Borden, Zion Lutheran Pastor said.
“Zion is an intentional outreach force in Central MA where the Spirit leads our people, in concert with ecumenical and other friends, in annual co-sponsorship of New Americans through partnership with Lutheran Social Services of New England (LSSNE), tending to the needs of homeless families through Inter-Faith Hospitality Network of Worcester (IHN), sponsoring our young people on annual Mission Trips through Lutheran Inter-Parish Young of Central MA (LIPY-CM), providing focused worship for people with disabilities in partnership with LSSNE’s David Forsberg Program as a Rejoicing Spirits congregation, raising funds to help fight food insecurity through the CROP WALK program, and in other various expressions.”
